Associate /Lobbyist, Sullivan & LeShane, Inc.

Mike

Michael Doyle brings his years of hands-on experience in Connecticut politics and the inner workings of state government to the lobbying team at Sullivan & LeShane. His career in government relations reflects the strong work ethic and passion for the political process he brings to bear for all of his clients. Michael first learned the ins and outs of the Capitol when, as a Quinnipiac College senior, he interned for the House Democratic Caucus. He quickly mastered the skills necessary to assume the position of Clerk of the House Screening Committee for two sessions. A Boston native, Michael returned to his former hometown to work in the Massachusetts legislature as Legislative Aide for the House Democratic Caucus. Here he handled constituent affairs and legislation for Representative James Miceli. At the end of the legislative session, Michael took on the assignment of Field Director for State Senator Brian Joyce's campaign for the 9th Congressional seat. A quick study, he mastered the details of campaign work and soon was given the responsibility to work on the Senator's fundraising, scheduling, and overall field operations. After the election, Michael returned to the Massachusetts Capitol, this time working for the Senate with responsibilities ranging from staffing the Public Safety committee to managing constituent affairs for Senator Joyce. Drawn to the enthusiastic environment of political campaigns, Michael has organized multiple Senate and House races across Massachusetts and Connecticut, and eventually returned to Connecticut in 2002 to work for the House Democrat's political organization and oversee several House races. After the 2002 elections, Michael joined the staff of then House Speaker Moira Lyons. As a political advisor, Michael has worked successfully with both leaders and members of the House Majority Caucus. In this capacity, Michael took on some of the toughest issues faced by the state. His "find the agreement" mentality delivered comprehensive legislation for Connecticut, such as Electrical Deregulation II. He was promoted to Senior Policy Aide and continued to cover the day to day activities of ten legislative committees for Speaker Lyons as well as raising funds for the House Democratic Caucus. Michael continues to organize campaigns in his free time, as well as visit his family home in Boston. This past July, Michael was engaged to a Connecticut native who currently teaches grade one elementary in the Hartford Public School system.
